CALA ALGAIARENS

¡Hola a todos! Sé que he estado un tiempo sin publicar, los exámenes y la posterior liberación han hecho que tenga olvidado el ordenador por completo.

Como ya expliqué en mi anterior entrada, las fiestas de San Juan de Menorca estaban muy próximas y ya has pasado, ¡y de que manera!

Inicié el viaje con mis amigos el día 19 de junio para aprovechar tres días de camping en diferentes playas menorquinas, pero por condiciones climáticas tuvimos que pasar una noche en el suelo de la entrada de la estación marítima, sí, toda una aventura.

I started the trip with my friends on 19 June to take three days of camping at different beaches of Menorca, but weather conditions had to spend a night on the floor of the entrance to the maritime station,yes, it was an adventure.

El día 19 nada más llegar cogimos nuestras bicicletas y nos fuimos dirección Cala Algaiarens. No tuvimos ninguna dificultad para encontrarla ya que está perfectamente señalizada. A pesar de ser una playa virgen, cuenta con un párking vigilado las horas de mayor ocupación donde poder dejar el vehículo estacionado.

When we arrive on the 19th morning we took our bicycles and we went towards Cala Algaiarens. We had not any trouble to finding it because it's well signposted. Despite being a virgin beach, it has a guarded parking most busy hours where you can leave your car all the day. Mide aproximadamente 150 metro de largo con unas grandes dunas a las espaldas. El agua, turquesa, clara y limpia. Un lugar magnífico donde pasar un día con tus amigos o la familia sin ningún tipo de edificación a la vista y siempre bajo la vigilancia de un socorrista.

It's about 150 meters long with a large sand dunes at the back. The water, turquoise, clear and clean. A great place to spend a day with your friends or family without any building in sight and always under the supervision of a lifeguard.

Mis amigos y yo siempre recordaremos ese día.

ANÉCDOTA: una vez ya establecidos en la playa, nos percatamos de que no teníamos ni comida ni agua suficiente para pasar todo el día ni la mañana siguiente, sí, acampamos allí; así que mi amigo Fer y yo emprendims camino con el pulgar alzado teniendo la suerte de que un simpático francés nos recogiera nada más empezar y fuimos al supermercado más próximo (7 km). Pero para volver no tuvimos la misma suerte, ¡nadie nos paraba! Así que tuvimo que sumar el coste de la compra al taxi que tuvimo que llamar... Nosotros fuimos unos supervivientes al más estilo Sex in the city.

COVA D'EN XOROI

Fui hace bastantes años a Menorca con mi familia y uno de los lugares marcados en el mapa fue éste.

CALA PREGONDA

El año pasado cuando visité Menorca con mis amigos nos dijeron que las playas más espectaculares de la isla estaban en el norte, y al encontrar esta playa, no lo pongo en duda.

Last year when I went to Menorca with my friends people told us that the most spectacular beaches of the island were in the north, and when I found this beach, I didn't doubt.

Cala Pregonda es una playa mítica de la isla. A pesar de que cerca se ven construcciones, podría decirse que se trata de una playa virgen.

Cala Pregonda is a mythical island beach. Although the buildings are near, you could say that this is a virgin beach.

Desde Ciutadella, saliendo por la C-721 hacia Ferreries, es Mercadal (Me-15), Binissarraia, Cases noves hasta llegar al camino de Caió. También existe otra ruta para llegar; desde la playa de Binimel-là se tarda 20 minutos caminando por un camino fácil, no requiere esfuerzo físico.

From Ciutadella, leaving the C-721 to Ferreries, es Mercadal (I-15), Binissarraia, Cases noves until camino de Caió. There is another route to reach too, from Binimel-là beach you can walk during 20 minuts in an easy way, that not requieres a big physical effort. Mide 170x60 metros, aguas cristalinas, arena fina y rojiza y protegida del mar abierto por unos islotes rocosos. Me encanta. La vi y pensé: “¡directa al blog!”.
Si todo va viento en popa en junio la visitaré y os diré como es verla, sentirla…

It measures 170x60 meters, crystal clear waters, fine and reddish sand and it's protected from the open sea by a rocky islets. I love it. I saw it and I thought: "direct to the blog!". If everything goes correctly I will visit it in June, and I'll tell you as to see it, feel it ...

CALA BINIGAUS

Un poco más alejada de Cala Galdana y de cala Trebalúger, he encontrado esta calita perteneciente al municipio de Migjorn Gran.

A little further away from Cala Galdana and cala Trebalúger, I have found this little cove in the municipality of Migjorn Gran.

Desde Ciutadella cogiendo la salida C-721 con la carretera de Ciutadella a Maó hasta Ferreries. Desde ahí cogeremos la dirección hacia es Migjorn Gran hasta llegar hasta Santo Tomás, donde se encuentra la cala.

From Ciutadella taking out C-721 with the road to Maó to Ferreries. From there we take the direction to es Migjorn Gran to get to Santo Tomá, where is the cove.
Playa aislada, rústica, y con ocupación que varía dependiendo del mes. De arena blanca, aguas claras y tranquilas. Es la playa central de 3 seguidas. Como suele pasar en Menorca, la cala está rodeada de una gran zona de bosque. También se la suele llamar Binicodrell.

Isolated beach, rustic, and occupation varies depending on the month. White sand, clear waters. It's the central beach of 3 in a row. As usually happens in Menorca, the cove is surrounded by a large area of forest. It's also often called Binicodrell.

Una playa más en la lista de "DEBO VISITAR". :)

CALA TREBALÚGER

Investigando diferentes calas para mostraros, he encontrado esta cala menorquina que me ha llamado la atención, al igual que todas las que publico en mi blog.

Researching different coves to show you, I found this menorquina cove that called my attention, like all that I post on my blog.

Cala Trebalúger está muy cerca de Cala Galdana. Desde Ciutadella, cogiendo la carretera de Ciutadella a Maó (Me-1) seguimos la dirección hacia Ferreries, y desde ahí, hacia Son Arro, pasando por es Mercadal, Alaior, Polígon Industrial Poima (RM) donde deberéis desviaros hacia Sant Lluís hasta llegar a Biniancolla.

Cala Trebalúger is very close to Cala Galdana. From Ciutadella, taking the road to Maó (Me-1) we have tomfollow the direction to Ferreries, and from there to Son Arro, passing es Mercadal, Alaior, Polígon Industrial Poima(RM) where you'll have to turn away until you get to Sant Lluís to Biniancolla.

Pero también existe otros modos de llegar: si no vais en coche y os apetece dar un paseo, podéis llegar a la cala desde Cala Mitjana cogiendo el Camí de Cavalls; o con una barca.

But there is also other ways to get there: if you go by car and you want walk, you can go to the cove from Cala Mitjana per Camí de Cavalls, or with a boat.

Se trata de una cala larga y ancha, de 190m x 160m. Arena blanca y fina y rodeada de pinares. En ella desemboca un riachuelo que de tanto en tanto tiñe las aguas de la playa por la composición de algunas algas; aún así el agua sigue siendo apta para el baño porque no tiene nada que ver con la contaminación, es simplemente un proceso natural.

It's a long, wide bay of 190m x 160m. Fine white sand and surrounded by pine trees. There is a mouth of stream that sometimes dyed the waters of the beach by the composition of some algae, the water remains safe for swimming yet because it has nothing to do with pollution, is simply a natural process.

Sin duda alguna, si este año no tengo ningún examen en las fechas de San Juan, visitaré esta playa en el mes de junio.

Without doubt if this year I haven't any exam on the dates of San Juan, I'll visit this beach in June.
