COVA D'EN XOROI

Fui hace bastantes años a Menorca con mi familia y uno de los lugares marcados en el mapa fue éste.

For many years I went to Menorca with my family and this was one of the places that we marked on the map.

Bar de día, discoteca de noche, es un lugar cargado de mitología donde puedes tomarte un aperitivo a cualquier hora contemplando espectaculares vistas con música down tempo music de fondo. Cada año se celebran los festivales ambient de música en directo que traen a los mejor artistas del ámbito nacional.

Cova d’en Xoroi guarda en su interior una leyenda romántica: Xoroi llegó solo a la cueva, posiblemente debió ser el único superviviente de un naufragio. En el pueblo cercano eran frecuentes los pillajes en los que saqueaban los hogares, raptaban a personas… Hasta que en uno de esos pillajes una joven desapareció.

Pasaron muchos años y no se sabía nada de ella. Un día cayó una fuerte nevada que destapó unas huellas delatadoras que conducían a la cueva. Eran del hombre, de la mujer y de sus tres hijos.

Many years passed and nothing was known of her. One day, heavy snow fell that uncovered telltale footprints leading into the cave. They were the men, women and their three children.

Xoroi, al verse sin salida, se lanzó al mar junto a su hijo. Rotos por el dolor, la mujer y los dos hijos se trasladaron a Alaior donde vivieron y tuvieron descendencia.

Xoroi, to be no way out, jumped into the sea with his son. Very sad, the woman and two children moved to Alaior where they lived and had children.
